Fernandez Boulder

This is the first boulder reached from the top of the old road. It gives crimpy wall climbing. The problems are described left to right.

1. Fernandez 6a (Font 6b+)** Michael Tweedly 2001
Start at a hollow jug at the left end of the face and climb the snakey arete to a good pocket on the right. Hard crimping above allows the top to be reached.

2. Snapster 6a (Font 6a+)** Michael Tweedly 2001
Sit start from a good two finger pocket. Reach to a tiny quartz edge and make difficult moves up the wall to the final jug.

3. Beast 6a (Font 6a)* Michael Tweedly 2001
Sit start at an obvious jug one metre right of Snapster. Reach the next jug and make a hard move up and right to an edge. Rock over and crimp to the top.

4. Sanchez 4b
To the right is a small groove. Start at the jug in this and layback the edge of the groove to a leftward finish.

5. Lopez 6b (Font 7a)** Dave MacLeod 2002
A technical left to right low level traverse of the face. Start at the arete and make difficult moves on tiny crimps to reach the starting pocket of Snapster. A huge cross through off this gains the starting jug of Beast. Swing onto this and make a long reach to the jug on Sanchez and finish up this. Sustained.
