Boulders
The
Supercrack Boulder
This
steep lump of mica lies a further 100 metres directly above
the Hideaway Boulder. It is recognisable by the two 50 degree
overhanging aretes looking into the glen and can be pinpointed
from the road, just to the left of an obvious short waterfall
running over a crag. It is probably best approached by contouring
across from the Upper Crag. It’s a bit of a trek to
get to but well worth it!

Slightly soft mica schist mars what is otherwise an outstanding
piece of climbing. The sandy surface settles very quickly
and hence this problem is one of the best in the area, well
worth a visit on its own. It climbs the awesome curving crack
on the front face of the boulder with technical and highly
interesting moves. Sit start at the jug and follow slopers
on the crack’s lip and then inside (or jams if you can
bear it). Swim up the easier curving section on pinches and
footjams to finish at a jammed block. Superb.
