Name: Roger Webb
Age: 41
Occupation: Criminal Lawyer
Base: Inverness
Description: Roger has been climbing for 26 years. During this time he has left many things behind including, in his own words, "my teeth in the Lake District, an eye on the Eiger and my best rock climbing in the `70's!"

Roger's main enjoyment now lies in winter where he was, and still is, responsible for many first ascents of the more remote routes in the north west. He could be suitably described as a 'producer of obscure and esoteric routes' many of which have been the result of a great deal of commitment and patience.

A record for one such route was the Direct Route on Quinag which involved 11 outings, three failures - resulting in two other routes - and seven weather driven retreats before success. He believes however that the extra effort involved is worth it, not just for the climbs themselves, but for the situation and solitude also.

Over the last five years Roger's best routes include; Direct Route VI,8 (Quinag); Fishmonger VI,6 (Lord Reay's Seat); Erebus VII,7 (Suilven); Original Route IV (Marthas Peak); Cardinal VIII,8 (Beinn a'Bhuird); Mean Streak VII,6 (Aonach Beag); The Sea, The Sea VI,7 and Faraway Buttress III (both Slioch).
Finest Moment: "Walking off Suilven by moonlight in -20c after doing Erebus and realising that for once we would make the pub."
